Hamburg Weekend

Hi dear trainees and IAESTEes,

unfortunately the hotel we planned to go is not available anymore. That's why we had to change the plans. Here is the new plan:

Saturday:
  • arriving in Hamburg at about 12 am (Means meeting at Lüneburg train station at 11.10 am) and meeting there some other trainees from Bochum and some other cities
  • no picnic
  • afterwards: sight seeing in Hamburg
  • then: going to the Dom-festival in Hamburg
  • after this: partying at the Reeperbahn until the early morning
Sunday:
  • going to the famous fishmarket in Hamburg in the early morning (the fishmarket starts at 5 am and ends at 9.30 am)
  • afterwards: going back to Lüneburg/ Büchen
This change of plans makes our weekend a little cheaper but also much more strenuous. That means that you should have a good portion of sleep before going to Hamburg! Well, maybe a lot of coffee and enrgy drinks will help, either.

Since we don't have to book the hotel anymore, you don't need to tell me if you will come or not. Just be at the station in Lüneburg on Saturday at 9.10 am if you want to join us. But still I hope that many of you will come!

See you soon,
Sarah

Trip to Berlin

Hello everybody,

finally, the trip is organised and here are the details:

Participants:
  1. Breno
  2. Vitor
  3. Radwan
  4. Murad
  5. Lylya
  6. Murad' friend
  7. Murad's friend's girlfriend
  8. Sarah
Departure in Lüneburg:
We will meet on Saturday, August 12th, at 5.05 am at the trainstation in Lüneburg. From there we will take the train to Hamburg where we will get on the train to Berlin. Arrival time in Berlin: 10.36 am

Accomodation:
I booked accomodation for you at Hotel "Berolina", Stuttgarter Platz 17, Berlin-Charlottenburg. The hotel is rather in the center of the city, 5 stations by city railway away from Berlin Hauptbahnhof and 2 stations away from my mother's house, where I will stay.
I booked one 5-bed room for 63 € for the room per night and one 2-bed room for 44 € for the room per night. So, the whole price is 107 €, which makes 15,29 € per person. This price doesn't include breakfast! And also, the showers and toilettes are not in the rooms but on the corridor of each floor but I think this won't be a problem for you.

Programe in Berlin:
Well, it's up to you!

Departure in Berlin for going back:
We will take the train departing at 7.25 pm on Sunday, August 13th. We'll be backin Lüneburg at 1.24 am

So, see you all on Saturday in the early morning,
Sarah

Change of plans for the weekend

Hello everybody,

as it seems at the moment the weather won't be good on Saturday (20°C and rain) but it is said that it will be good again on Sunday.
So here is what I suggest to do in reaction to this:

Saturday: Let's meet at "Am Sande" in front of McDonalds at 1 pm to go then to the salt museum (entrance fee: 3,50 €, maybe we will be allowed to pay this from IAESTE money).

Sunday: Bike tour to the swimming pool in Bardowick as planned before. So, meeting point again "Am Sande" at 11 am.

It would be very nice if each one of you could give me a call (check the email I wrote for the phone number) to tell me if this is ok for you because maybe you don't want to go to the salt museum at all and only want to do the bike tour on Sunday... That would be ok, but I have to know and get everyone of you informed about that to prevent that one or two of you will wait at Am Sande tomorrow.

I've also got another offer for you for Saturday night (I wanted to ask you about that tomorrow but in case that we won't meet each other tomorrow I have to ask now):
Is anyone of you interested in going to party tomorrow night? If so, I would suggest to have some drinks at any bar of Lüneburg first and to go then later on to the "Pesel" which is a very small and curious disco at "Am Stintmarkt" or shortly "Stint" (a street in the inner city of Lüneburg). This place is kind of strange but also a good location for having party... You just have to have it seen... Well, it is just a suggestion. If we see each other tomorrow we can talk about that further and else: Just tell me if you are interested.

See you, Sarah
